Northern Pickups

By the 1980s Gibson had gone through a few changes and decided that the things they thought were broke, didn't need fixing. The 70s sound of the T-Top was out and the 60s was back in.

They decided the PAF® was the way forwards and remade it in its old image with help from engineer Tim Shaw who reverse engineered the PAF® in his own image. These humbuckers can be found in early 80s Gibsons and are a sought after piece. While not the holy grail of the original PAFs, these hum cancelling pickups are equally revered among guitarists for their unique sound and robust build, with the main difference of a brass baseplate as opposed to the PAF nickel.

We have recreated the Gibson® Shawbucker® in a variety of styles and specs to suit your playing and your sound.

The Shawbucker Clone comes with no cover as standard, brass baseplate and cloth wire with braided metal shield and black bobbins.

Choose from 4-core hookup wire or cloth wire with metal braided shielding.

Note: our bridge pickups are shipped as standard with 52.5mm spacing and neck pickups with 49.2mm spacing. If you require 49.2mm bridge spacing as with most retro models, please be sure to let us know when ordering.
